Summary
Mrs Tillyard was to speak on Reminiscences and the formation of cultural organisations in the late 1920s and 30s in Canberra and CS Daley on the changing face of Acton. Report on the visit to Uriarra and Sherwood which included members of the Phillips family. Donations were received including an old cheese dish purchased circa 1870 at Bungendore, an 1849 marriage certificate from the Kinlyside family and photos of Throsby Park. The CDHS committee are to suggest that the street names of a future suburb be dedicated to pioneering families and a note was made of the pouring of the first concrete for the lake wall and the first test TV transmissions from the mast on Black Mountain.
Notes
Streets in Weetangera and Fraser were subsequently named after district pioneers.
The editor, Tamerlane Southwell, died on 15 April 1962, shortly after the Newsletter was published.
