- The Canberra Motel was located at the junction of the Yass Road and the Federal Highway (now the corner of Antill Street and Northbourne Avenue. The first sod was turned in October 1955 and the motel opened in 1956. The architect was Brian O'Connor. See also 'Canberra's First Motel' by Barry Price in Newsletter ed.430.
