- Albert Edward Wright, a descendant of James Wright who once owned LAnyon and Cuppacumbalong, was born on the 12th April 1888 at Delegate. He served in World War 1 and acquired soldier settler leases in the Territory after the war. He was the first secretary of the Federal Territory Rural Lessees Association and died on 7 March 1970 when he was struck by a tourist bus while walking along Northbourne Avenue.
