- Fred Chambers worked as a rigger on the construction of new Parliament House, in particular on the construction of the flagpole. The collection includes a certificate of appreciation as member of the construction team, extracts from his diary explaining his work at new Parliament House, Open Day souvenir, personal material regarding the Royal visit of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1983, newspaper clippings about new Parliament House, a letter congratulating Chambers on the last lift of the flagpole in 1987, copies of plans for the flagpole. There is also an album with 148 colour photographs of the construction of new Parliament House, the flagpole and the Royal visit of 1983.
