- The Lady Gowrie Services Club was next to Manuka Oval and opened durig World War 2. It was destroyed by fire in 2011 just after Anzac Day. Lady Gowrie was the wife of Baron Gowrie (General the Rt Hon Alexander Hore-Ruthven), Governor General 1936 to 1945.
